Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. (TTWO.O: Quote, Profile, Research) on Thursday delayed its most important upcoming video game, "Grand Theft Auto IV", and warned that it would post a full-year loss, before one-time items, sending shares down 12.5 percent.
"We are very disappointed to reduce guidance after having previously reaffirmed it," Ben Feder, the chief executive who is part of a new management team at the troubled company, said in a statement, referring to the company's previous assessment, in June.
The game, which had been scheduled for release in October, is now planned for release in the second quarter of Take-Two's fiscal 2008.
Apparently Xbox 360 is limiting GTA IV because it's only got the DVD format and there's no guarenteed hard drive. Intereseting to say the least, but it probably wont have much effect on which version is better... maybe.
I agree with Laoldar. Some shares are trading on hype and popularity alone (take a look at Halo 3), and you can be sure that as the user base of thesimExchange grows, popular big name title will always, always be traded.
I'm not sure how much higher this stock will go. There are quite a number of people who think this stock is overvalued ATM and I know there are also some people shorting this stock.
Seems like the 360 might be the lead dev platform for this game. In the recent Game Informer article about the game it's said on one of the pictures that they were taken on an Xbox 360 debug unit (and do not represent final game just yet). Game looks and sounds really great.
