To be quite honest it looks like they just toned down the lighting (which, in my opinion, didn't exactly make it look better) and made things a little blurrier. I'm disappointed.
Also, notice in the second to last shot the PLAYSTATION 3 logo is no longer there... Xbox 360 version seems very likely now.
I think in this case Jess has a right to be mad & to have posted what he did, or something almost as heated... His earlier post was clearly him trying to provide help for SE users and it has 4 downbids? (his post 6:43 pm june 6th). Jess its best to just let it go, I've been quite mad a few times myself with some things on the SE but I learned that its best to take it with a grain of salt and not comment on it usually.
Sorry Jess, I submitted an article with the same trailer which you had submitted. I checked all recent articles, all recent MGS4 articles, and then I went to check MGS4 videos before posting it. When I realized I could not edit MGS4 videos by most recent I went ahead and posted the article. I should've looked through each & every video to fully check, but I thought there would be pages of videos I would have to sift through, my bad. Can you guys also give Jess some upbids too.
MGS2 was released on the X-Box (although it was a special edition version a while after the PS2 release). So they have released on Microsoft's platform before. Also, currently the 360 has sold about 400,000 in Japan while the PS3 has sold 930,000 (vgcharts of course). It's double, but still a very small number. Besides, the majority (80%+) of MGS game sales are in territories outside of Japan, where the 360 has a much larger install base.
Your price cut is speculative, as is any increase in sales. Personally, I don't see a price cut making that big of a difference now (at least not anything under a $200-250 cut).
I agree with the idea of a time-lagged port. However, given that Kojima is already working on Wii titles, I wonder if he might be inclined to to alter MGS4 (either dumb down the graphics of release a side-story) for the Wii.
I wouldn't include MGS:TS as a special edition since it was released so long after MGS1, on a new system. If we look at the figures in my post below we can see how much each special edition of MGS2&3 added to the overall sales.
MGS2 Substance added ~225,500 to overall MGS2 sales. MGS3 Subsistence added 288,000 to overall MGS3 sales.
Not counting territories other than NA or PAL. Were the SE released in EU, etc?
