IGN Entertainment has released a GamerMetrics report with anticipated sales projections, statistics and commentary specifically focused on the upcoming release of Halo 3; in the report, GamerMetrics analyst Nick Williams. As many people guessed, it's a remake of Lockout entitled Blackout. The Halo 3 Legendary DLC pack goes up on Live early in April. Will it put Halo 3 back at the top of the live charts over COD4 and bring people back to the game? Time will tell. Meanwhile, the Heroic map pack is now free for all subscribers, yay!

Yes more Halo news. Then what did you expect this is the biggest games title ever. This article brings a couple of snippets together of which I had not seen before, namely that MS have said they took 1.7 million presales for the US (Previously it was announced as 1.5 and not clear about the US) additionally it quotes the Deutsche Bank as having checks that indicate a higher than expected sales and potential revenue 80% higher than expected for this fiscal year.

Found something: Speaking at CES 09 at the Las Vegas Convention centre last night, Microsoft’s president of the Entertainment and Devices Division, Robbie Bach, said that 25 million Halo games have been sold so far in the franchise. He went on to say that the average Halo 3 Xbox Live players average at about 150 hours of gameplay. Bach also added that 3 million people signed up for its Live service within the last three months.

Goldman Sachs analysts Sarah Friar and Frederick Grieb predicted that Microsoft will have shipped a mighty 4.2 million copies of Halo 3 into the retail channel by the end of the month. That's a big-enough launch shipment for more than a third of the Xbox 360's 11.6 million global user base to pick up a copy. They believe the Xbox 360 will maintain its momentum after the Halo release due to the underperforming PlayStation 3 and the exclusive downloadable content for Grand Theft Auto IV.
