@Rol83, You've quoted the single negative comment in an otherwise extremely positive preview. The fact that these issues remain is certainly disappointing, but I doubt it is going to matter much in terms of review scores let alone sales. (We'll all find out soon enough.)
“You’ll likely notice the same graphical ‘quirks’ that the series has dealt with since the jump to 3D. The same filmlike, grainy framerate exists and usually holds steady, but it can momentarily dip when things get frantic,...”
"Variety are reporting that, according to 'sources close to publisher Take-Two,' Grand Theft Auto IV is poised to take in around $400 million during its first week on sale. They're also reporting that, based on discussions with retailers, the 360 version is easily outselling the PS3 one."
Last week, Joystiq asked you which version of Grand Theft Auto IV you were planning to purchase. We got a great response from everyone, with over 38,400 votes coming in! The 360 takes it with 58% of the votes leaving the PS3 with a still respectable, considering the lower userbase, 42%. Reasons for the split are broken down in the article so just follow the link.
Awesome things from the review Your ingame mobile creates radio interference. Thunder Storms. The Stooges on the soundtrack. In some missions you have to decide who lives and dies. 'more time agonising over one particularly tough choice than we did over harvesting Bioshock's little sisters' Headshot drivers who fall on the horn and the accelerator. In one screenshot, I count 21 cars at a set of traffic lights, and I can't see behind. Achievement for assasination missions called 'Assassin's Greed'
About the mobile: 'You start out with Roman's cast-off mobile, good only for text and calls, but a later upgrade is much more useful. You're sent photos of assassination targets, can snap photos of your own to check on any police car computer, and can buy new ringtones and themes from your computer'
Grumbles (pre-final build): Cover system stumbling in box-filled environments Slightly over-enthusiastic target lock-on The occasional pop-up
Amazingly realistic world.
Stunning action set pieces.
Geniunely engrossing storyline.
Hugely entertaining multiplayer.
Vast in every respect.
10/10
