@sagexsdx, I would suspect we'll see more games requiring hard drives this year, even if its the Burnout effect (hard drive required for online play). MS would be foolish to limit the games on XBox for a $50 accessory.
well if rumors are correct, then GTA V is going to be an MMO or quasi-MMO so MS allowed FFXI to require a hard drive... dont see why it wouldn't be required for GTA V
"One of the problems with the 360, and it affects games like Grand Theft Auto if you think about how much content we put in the actual machine, is the fact that they don't have a significantly larger storage medium than the previous systems. It's a slightly bigger DVD disc... If we're filling up the disc right now, where are we going? It's not like our games are going to get any smaller.", Sam Houser told 1up.
Interview with the Grand Theft Auto series' art director Aaron Garbut, about GTA IV development, from the initial brainstorming and first programming and planning steps, including the location research, to script refinement and how missions are integrated.
In part 2, you can find out how Rockstar approaches game development, what cats and diarrhoea have got to do with the game's enormous number of fake brands, and what GTA IV has in common with GTA III.
"DLC so far has meant the odd new car, jumper of bit of horse armour, but GTA IV is set to completely redefine the idea with expansions that are to GTA IV what Vice City or San Andreas were GTA III. Yes, Rockstar is clearly hinting at new downloadable cities; and the chances of them being London, Vice City or SA again are slim to none. So that's new as in brand new. GTA IV's Liberty City is the beginning. Think about that and be excited."
Platform holder readies promotional blitz to rival last year’s ground-breaking Halo 3 campaign.
“As such you can expect a large awareness campaign from us, showcasing how great GTA IV on Xbox 360 is, and what great value the Xbox 360 console is too. Our campaign is the same sort of scale as our Halo 3 campaign last year so you can expect to see and hear a lot about GTA IV on Xbox 360 over the coming weeks.”
Your right. But I think everyone knows that its going to be a brilliant game. Nevertheless it is not flawless. Every GTA had that frame-rate and pop-up issues and I hoped that this one would be an exception. To mention the great story and new elements isn't anything new so I posted the part with the issues.
whilst he has pointed out the only negative parts of the preview im sure they are what matters most, another preview proclaiming the games greatness and not highlighting any of its flaws really isnt needed.
