Rockstar today announced "The Ballad of Gay Tony," the second downloadable expansion for the fabulous Grand Theft Auto IV. "The Ballad of Gay Tony injects Liberty City with an overdose of guns, glitz, and grime," says Rockstar of the title.

Grand Theft Auto IV is, without a doubt, a stunning game with an amazing amount of content. Yes, GTA IV is fully deserving of the praise heaped on it by the many media critics who've reviewed it. What follows is my critical analysis-call it nitpicking if you will-of GTA IV, in hopes that Rockstar will put this on the list of things to remedy before the next game comes out.

Given the flood of perfect review scores for Grand Theft Auto IV, observant gamers were justifiably surprised when a score of 9.5/10 briefly appeared on Gamespot.com Monday. That surprise turned to confusion in some quarters when the score (which had no accompanying review) was quickly taken down and later replaced with the fifth 10/10 in Gamespot's history (complete with corresponding review text).

Xboxworld.nl pinned up some alleged screens of Grand Theft Auto 4 multiplayer today, before the powers that be ripped 'em right down. Thing is, the ol' kibosh just ain't what it used to be, and sure enough, the images have resurfaced all over the place. Couple these glimpses with rumor of 15 multiplayer modes and 16-player support, and, um, wow ... who even needs those DLC episodes?

According to reports, Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two has spoken of new episodic content releasing for Microsoft's console after its fiscal '08 - which would put its release somewhere between November 1, 2008 and October 31, 2009.

Microsoft corporate VP Shane Kim today reconfirmed that the first bit of Xbox 360-exclusive Grand Theft Auto IV downloadable content will debut on Xbox Live this fall. The episode will mark the first of two promised game-expanding, Xbox 360-exclusive pieces of downloadable content for the title. No additional details were revealed.

The first indication of GTA IV's presales performance was revealed today when Take Two Interactive confirmed that the special edition of the game has almost sold out in New Zealand. While the tiny island nation of just over four million inhabitants doesn't put much of a mark on worldwide sales figures, the excitement which must be brewing among Kiwis is probably something echoed all around the world.
