It's been a while since our last look at Grand Theft Auto IV. The last time we had seen the game, it was "on track" for its October 2007 release, but still clearly in need of some polishing. This time out however, a good six months since our last viewing, things were different...

I think we all already suspected it but it took the Rocket Scientest Pachter to say it. The 360 GTA fans have lost out because the PS3 is to damn complicated.

Congratulations, Take-Two. You win second place on the list of 10 worst media deals of 2008. Spurning Electronic Arts' offer to buy you got the attention of some list-making investors, who hailed your decision.

Grand Theft Auto IV Preview

Teamxbox.com - January 23, 2008

Just think how different the last 99 days could have been. Going by the originally planned release date of October 16, 2007, today would be the 99th day of ownership for any gamer who bought Grand Theft Auto IV on its first day of sales. Of course, that would make this preview article look pretty dumb, if it came more than three months after the long-awaited sequel in Rockstar Games’ incredibly popular series was due to ship to stores.

Grand Theft Auto IV Details Unloaded...

MTV News - January 1, 2008

The game looked as good as it does in its trailers, with advanced lighting, and a special physics system that makes characters walk, fall and leap in natural and often distinct ways. It had short load times; slightly out-of-sync lip-syncing, which is still getting polished; a line of sight that made buildings 10 blocks away viewable; and a bounty of unexpected visual and gameplay details.
