The incredibly anticipated game by Rockstar has been delayed into a period between February and April 2008. Take-Two Chairman Strauss Zelnick claims that "certain elements of development proved to be more time-intensive than expected."

Looks like the Grand Theft Auto IV machine is starting to kick into gear with this collection of videos. Rockstar has provided GameTrailers with five clips from the highly anticipated game that introduce us to some of the seedy denizens and businesses that make up the fictional Liberty City.

Cruising under broker bridge, into the busy estuary and lodging up on the rocky coast, Rockstar answers one of our final concerns over GTA IV. Going from interior, to land, to water and back again, it's clear that GTA IV is still as sandbox and open-ended as ever before, not limited at all by the bloody impressive detail put upon the environment. By the looks of it, Rockstar could've made the most epic sandbox yet.

A research team asked 1,250 kids to name some video games they'd played in the past six months. GTA was at the top of the list for boys, way ahead of the Madden football games and Microsoft's sci-fi blockbuster, Halo. Among girls the same age, the game was No. 2, behind the Sims.

"DLC so far has meant the odd new car, jumper of bit of horse armour, but GTA IV is set to completely redefine the idea with expansions that are to GTA IV what Vice City or San Andreas were GTA III. Yes, Rockstar is clearly hinting at new downloadable cities; and the chances of them being London, Vice City or SA again are slim to none. So that's new as in brand new. GTA IV's Liberty City is the beginning. Think about that and be excited."

Amazingly realistic world. Stunning action set pieces. Geniunely engrossing storyline. Hugely entertaining multiplayer. Vast in every respect. 10/10 More in the comment section.

Dan Houser, Rockstar's VP and writer for GTA IV, recently said in an interview with Yahoo! News that he expects the fumes of controversy to waft especially thick and heavy over this particular chapter in the GTA franchise.

"Grand Theft Auto IV has sold 8.5 million units to date, with 11 million shipped to retail as of May 31, the company's second quarter financial results revealed today. [These numbers reflect sales on both the PS3 and 360.] In its first week, GTA IV sold 6 million units, to the tune of $500 million in net sales."
