VGB reports that Jeronimo Barrera, a senior developer at Rockstar, says it takes testers playing 4 hours a day “a good 2 weeks to get through the whole single-player game.” That means if they are playing a full week that’s about 56 hours total.

Microsoft will make sure that the Xbox 360 benefits most from the GTA IV launch, and from a content standpoint it "already owns it", says Microsoft Game Studios boss Shane Kim. Speaking to US magazine Wired at the DICE summit, the Microsoft games boss said that making sure it owns the launch of Grand Theft Auto IV from a platform perspective "is really important." "We already own it, I believe, from a content standpoint, because we have the exclusive episodes," he said.

Unsurprisingly, April's end-of-the-month releases notched three of the top five slots in this month's chart, with the Xbox 360 version of GTAIV taking the top spot at 871,300 units. That tally is almost twice as much as the PS3 edition of the game, which occupied the fourth slot in NPD's data charts with 442,900 units on the month. "GTAIV has now generated combined sales of 4.2 million units [in the US], making it the top-selling title of the year," commented NPD analyst Anita Frazier.

Harvey Norman is offering the Xbox 360 Elite (available for pick-up on purchase) with GTAIV (available for pick up on the 29th of April) for $698, which is $1 less than the recommended retail price of the only PS3 model available in Australia, the 40gb.

Rockstar has now officially confirmed that GTA IV will be hitting the PC on November 18 in North America and November 21 in Europe. It appears that the PC version will be ported by Rockstar North, but this and any further details have yet to be confirmed.
