Congrats, I studied Comp Sci at the Uni. of London but I bailed out after two years as the course wasn't doing anything for me. It's very easy to make mistakes with Universities & degrees in my opinion, I certainly did. I work in IT/Games now so it's not all bad.
I very much doubt you would run into any similar issues at Cambridge though :-) It's also a good town to boot :)
Just curious, was it ever considered to have some event-driven futures? For example "Will Microsoft launch a Blu-Ray player in 2009" , "Will Sony cut the price of the PS3 before March 2008" etc.
I realise those sort of future contracts are more akin to traditional prediction markets (and you find them ten-a-penny on places like HubDub) but I'm sure a limited selection of interesting topics would be fun and useful for traders and visitors alike.
After the New Year, we will be working on adding a forum in which members can create their own threads. In this forum, there will not be user bidding on other members' comments. This will be an evolving development with your feedback and we will see how it goes.
Certainly haven't had one for a while. There are also a couple of positions I have which I'd like to close. I'm having to do it very slowly at the minute.
I think we need a consolidation of stocks, we have too many stocks at the moment and many of them are old and practically dead. With a smaller number of stocks more focus will be placed on the remaining ones leading to higher activity and making it more interesting to play. We haven't had a clean up of old stocks for quite some time now and i think we are due one.
