At Comic-Con last week, Lord of the Rings director and never-to-be Halo movie producer Peter Jackson told Joystiq he was no longer making a Halo game.
Last week, Jackson confirmed the game was dead, saying that it "sort of collapsed when the movie didn't end up happening."
March 25, 2009 - At the Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco, Bungie producer Allen Murray gave a talk about the studio's production process, which has gone through a major evolution of late. Formerly a one-project shop, Bungie has changed its approach to facilitate the development of multiple projects simultaneously. That's good news for gamers.
Halo 3's got a somewhat popular online component, and has had one since it launched (hey, it's Halo). Ever wonder how many multiplayer games that actually equates to, though? Try over one billion.
Yup, Bungie's near-OCD obsession with tracking numbers means that we now know that at 18:36 PT on February 28, a four-player Infection match was the one billionth played since the game's release in September 07.
Speaking to USA Today, Halo franchise development director Frank O'Connor hints that we may have more Master Chief in store for us in the future.
The bulk of the article is about upcoming Halo 3: ODST, which O'Connor says is significantly more than an add-on."It's a lot of game. You play the game through the point of view of an ODST.
@apujanata, I believe you might be talking about 8.1 Million shipped (SOLD TO RETAIL) article, like this one, which is quite different than sold to customer, which is what simEx track, and therefore it is much more accurate to use NPD's figure, not publisher's figure (which is always shipped, or sold to retail).
@spot-on, I didn't remember seeing 1 Million+ sold in 2008 article. Maybe you can post the URL ? I also didn't remember 8.1 Million sold as of Jan 7 2008 article. All that we have is 4.82 Million sold in US courtesy of NPD data. Do you have URL for article that mentioned 8.1 Million sold in 2007 ?
