@kspraydad, Do you have any data on sales for bundles? This is not a new SKU, it's a bundle. I would say that in order for the numbers you are using to be accurate all of the following would have to happen:
1. The 80 GB model would have to be discontinued. 2. The sales predictions made would have to hold true. 3. The 40 GB model cannot have a price drop. 4. The 80 GB model must have backwards compatibility. 5. The model must stay on the market for a considerable amount of time.
Also keep in mind that even if all of those hold true the bundle is not for sale in Europe, which is the PS3's largest market, so the impact will not be quite as big as the value of this stock seems to indicate.
Speaking to VideoGamer.com, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has confirmed that the newly announced Metal Gear Solid 4 PlayStation 3 console bundle and the God of War: Chains of Olympus PSP console bundle are not currently planned for release in Europe.
@KultofCows, I don't think we know, to my knowledge they have not announced an end to that SKU. I would expect something similar to the Halo 3 SKU for the 360.
@kspraydad, Where are you getting the idea that the bundle will sell 2.5 million in the us? Why do you think it will make up 50% of all PS3 sales in the US?
@Heloise10, You're right, thats why the stock was valued at 5 million sales already, higher than any previous game despite being on a smaller user base.
1
5 million is not higher than any previous MGS game. (I hold no shares in this stock).
