Word from Destination PlayStation, a retailers-only conference for all things PlayStation related, is that Metal Gear Solid 4 is coming to the PlayStation 3 on June 12, 2008. According to sources there now, the release of Kojima Productions action-stealth game will arrive on a Thursday, oddly enough. Even more interesting is that we're hearing word that Sony will be offering a hardware bundle that features MGS4, an 80GB PlayStation 3 and a DualShock 3 packed-in.
"That's what Metal Gear Online is, then. It's Metal Gear Solid stripped down to its bare essentials, shorn of its characters, its cut-scenes and its cinematic ambitions."
Wow, theres going to be some people who are losing serious DKP when this thing comes out and the sales numbers come out. Theres no way this title will sell 1 million more copies than the most popular game in the series to date did.
@lstormy10, Has any other Metal Gear Solid game delivered a demo before? I would say demos are released shortly before the full game is available, a month or two. Personally, I don't expect this game to hit before the second quarter, maybe even the third quarter, so no demo until May, if there will be a demo at all.
When is Konami ending their fiscal year? March 31 as well?
@feelmyring, I 100% agree that they are missing out on a good opportunity to move more copies of the title (it's also something that I think the majority of PS3 owners will be disappointed about).
@Mushashi, This is super-disappointing: as a PS3 owner and someone who has never really played MGS games, I was looking forward to a demo to see if I wanted to play it. I think they're missing an opportunity to move some more copies.

maybe a title edit might be useful. an edit to include the package offer.
